Maine Camp Experience with Rowing for 7th-9th Graders

Slovenski Camps, Raymond, ME - June 29 - July 6

Maine truly is the best summer place to be! Ditch the screens and join a new group of friends with your chance to escape the ordinary. This week merges a traditional summer camp experience with the beauty of rowing on a secluded lake in the great northeast. Coaches Rick Brown and Doug Welling both started their rowing careers just miles from this camp location. They are so excited to teach new skillsets through the sport of rowing while showcasing a bit of Maine Magic!

Campers will be grouped with other of similar ability. Restricted to 24 male and 24 female rowers and 6 coxswains! Participants must be entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2024.

What you receive:

  • Great coaching on a beautiful Maine lake! Coach Doug Welling, the Head Coach at Bowdoin College, will lead this camp. His staff will work with you to gain invaluable rowing experience with a focus on teamwork and finding joy in making boats go fast.

  • Indiviualized programming to progress rowers of similar ability. Some rowing experience is required for this camp, but our coaches will strive to meet personal needs as it pertains to each camper’s skill level. You will leave camp having taken a lot of practice strokes and possess new ways to contribute to your entire team’s future success.

  • A FULL Maine Camp experience. In addition to several rowing sessions a day, you will have the opportunity to join other camp sessions that include swimming, kayaking, arts & crafts, capture the flag, dodgeball, sailing, chess, basketball and much more.

  • Supervision and guidance from our rowing coaches will be enhanced with access to the Slovenski Camps staff, including a full-time Nurse to attend to any medical needs.

  • Sleeping quarters in one of the Camp bunk rooms.

  • Meals at the camp. The facility is all inclusive and truly enables each camper to unplug for the week!

  • A lifetime of memories packed into one week. Slovenski Camps is an incredible venue to meet new friends and create lasting bonds with your campmates.
